Stage 3 of the Øresund Bridge’s overall solar investment was completed in May 2023. The solar installation has been established on Peberholm, a hub in the Øresund where the Danish and Swedish power grids meet, and where considerations for motorway, railway, and airport must be integrated into the project. Special environmental requirements also apply, as the entire Peberholm area has been designated an EU Natura 2000 nature reserve.
The solar installation is part of the Øresund Bridge Consortium’s strategy to reduce CO₂ emissions and a step on their journey toward climate-neutral operations by 2030.
